Contact Improvisation - A Practice of Sensing and Deep connection
Contact Improvisation has been at the core of Alon Ritter's practice for over 17 years. This dance form, rooted in shared movement, touch, and gravity, is a dynamic way to explore connection, trust, and creativity. It is a practice of sensing—deeply tuning into one’s own body and the body of a partner—where weight, momentum, and attention guide the dance in an ever-changing flow.
Contact Improvisation is more than a dance; it is a powerful and healthy stimulation for the nervous system. By engaging with principles of movement and touch, the practice enhances somatic awareness, promotes regulation, and supports the integration of physical and emotional experiences.
Alon brings a unique depth to this practice, pouring into it the wealth of knowledge he has gained through studies in somatics, bodywork, Tango, the Axis Syllabus, and trauma therapy. His teaching combines technical precision, somatic sensitivity, and creative exploration, making Contact Improvisation a tool for growth, self-discovery, human connection and healing.
Alon teaches workshops and organizes events globally, welcoming dancers and movers of all levels to delve into this enriching practice.
